It can be really easy to overcomplicate things, es It can be really easy to overcomplicate things, especially when it comes to marketing.

After all, there's figuring out where your audience is, deciding which platforms to be on, what you need to do on those platfroms, whether you do it organically and/or paid, how often to do it, what to say, how it relates to your business, how you will measure success and so on . . .

I agree there are a lot of moving parts, but at the end of the day it boils down to this - You need a plan, you need to consistently execute that plan and then you need to measure if it's working.

Typically we will plan quarterly, measure monthly and execute daily. How about you?
Freshman year in college I took a Philosophy class Freshman year in college I took a Philosophy class. It was so strange to me, and it challenged me in ways I didn't even know possible. And if I'm being honest I hated it, at first.

See, as someone who loves math and numbers and searches for the 'right' answers based on concrete data, that class challenged me to understand life in a new way.

I often think about those types of classes I took over the years because I believe they made me a better marketer today. They pushed me to think about things outside of the box and from a different perspective.

While looking at analytics is important, marketing is a balance between the art and the science -- between understand behaviors and looking at the data behind it.

Thinking back on your experiences. . . what people, classes or events have impacted you?
As we look ahead to 2021, many of us are thinking As we look ahead to 2021, many of us are thinking about both business and personal goals for the coming year.

If you haven’t given much thought to this, it’s not too late. In fact, setting new intentions and modifying your goals should be something that grows and changes throughout the year, allowing you to modify as necessary.

When it comes to marketing, there are all sorts of goals that you can set that will help you to measure exactly how you are doing.

When I started Ellen Grace Marketing exactly 5 yea When I started Ellen Grace Marketing exactly 5 years ago - to the day - I never imagined what was to come.

I had spent the prior 15 years checking all the boxes in the corporate world:
.
Getting a business degree ✔️
Getting a solid job ✔️
Getting promotions ✔️
Getting the masters degree ✔️
Jumping to a bigger company ✔️

and so on . . .

Entrepreneurship was never a box on my list but somewhere along the way I decided I needed a change.

While I'm grateful I made the leap, I'm more grateful for all of the people that took the time to meet with me over the last 5 years. The ones that help guide me, mentor me, and teach me.

There are too many to list, but it is because of all those people who supported me, referred me, and trusted me, that this business is still going strong today.

Here's to 5 more years and more solid relationships to come!
As a marketer, when I read this quote I immediatel As a marketer, when I read this quote I immediately think of LOYALTY, WORD OF MOUTH and REFERRALS.

After all, having customers and clients that continue to come back month after month and year after year and bring their friends is the ultimate gauge of success.

Last week a new client she asked if I was taking new clients because she had a friend who needed help and she wanted to refer me. The business woman inside me exploded because to me this is the ultimate complement and something that I hold so dear to me heart.

It’s important to put just as much energy into retaining your customers as you do in getting them in the first place. Loyalty marketing is all about building those critical long-term relationships with your customers and clients so they - in the words of Me. Disney 1) want it again and 2) bring their friends.
